If you were to write a note to the younger generation, what words of wisdom would you offer? What traditions and pieces of heritage would you like them to carry on? How do you contribute to your community? YTA presents the 4th Annual “Notes To Our Children; A Gathering of Elders” at the Jeanne Dini Center in Yerington on Thursday, May 16. The Notes Project is a multicultural interactive program honoring Elders and their contributions to the diverse cultural heritage of the Walker River Basin community. Join us for an evening of discovering heritage, traditions, and the ways they enrich our community. The evening will conclude with a fellowship meal. The Gallery will feature a collection of current and past Elder Storyboards.

Join Utah Master Western Artist Kelly Donovan to learn his award-winning techniques in Western oil painting during a two-day oil painting workshop on January 19 and 20th at the Jeanne Dini Center in Yerington. Bio: Award winning artist, Kelly D. Donovan has had an interest in art from an early age. Growing up in western Colorado gave Donovan a strong foundation for the work he enjoys. From the time he could pick up a pencil as a young boy, Donovan has immersed himself in cowboy art. He began showing his work in galleries at age 15. Donovan says, “My fascination with the old west has kindled my desire to keep that brief moment in history alive through my artwork.” His extensive research into the old west ensures the authenticity that he strives for in his work. He was featured in Southwestern Art Magazine as an emerging artist and as an “Artist to Watch”. He was also featured in Western Horseman Magazine. MAMA MIA! IT’S A SING-ALONG AT THE DINI CENTER
Stop by the Jeanne Dini Center tonight, Thursday Nov. 15th, for 3rd Thursday@ the Center, ia fun after five mixer, admission is FREE. YTA will highlight local quilters together with the songs of a Swedish singing group – ABBA. Third Thursday runs from 5 – 7:00 pm, followed directly by the screening of “Mama Mia” complete with popcorn, theater candy, soda, and of course our usual, a selection of fine wine and Great Basin beer will be aailable. We’ll provide all of the songs’ lyrics, so don’t fret about not knowing the words, they will be provided. Whether it’s a girls’ night out or a group of friends just wanting to hear some great Abba music and the opportunity to “cut loose” Come join for some great fun. Missoula Children’s Theatre – “Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs” Auditions February 4th, Performances February 8 & 9

The Missoula Children’s Theatre returns to Yerington in early February with a production of ‘Snow White and the Seven Drawfs’. Two MCT tour actor/directors will arrive on a Sunday February 3, complete with sets, props, costumes, make-up, and scripts. Auditions will be held on Monday, Februay 4th, at the YES multipurpose room from 3-5 pm. 50 local students will be selected to fill roles in the production and will rehearse throughout the week at the Jeanne Dini Center. Performances of the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs musical will be held on Friday and Saturday February 8 & 9. at the Jeanne Dini Center. All tickets are $5. The evening begins at 5:00 pm with our usual Third Thursday mixer honoring our local quilters. This will be your opportunity to meet many of the quilters featured in our current quilt show throughout the Jeanne Dini Center. Appetizers, wine and beer will be available. Third Thursday runs from 5 – 7:00 pm, followed directly by the screening of “Mama Mia.” Join Yerington Theatre for the Arts on Thursday, November 15^th for quilts, quilters, and ABBA.
